Origin: A Journey That Inspired Me

In July 2024, I met barefoot doctors in Naxi villages at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan. These ethnomedical healers mastered unique herbal remedies and medical skills, yet they failed to obtain legal practice qualifications because they couldn’t pass the license exam based on modern medicine standards. Moreover, Naxi medicine, unlike Tibetan and Mongolian medicine, was not included in medical insurance, facing a triple crisis of “aging practitioners, inheritance gap, and loss of knowledge”.

My Mission

Concerned for the endangered status quo of Naxi traditional medicine, I devoted myself to bridging traditional wisdom and modern society. I built a Naxi medicine website and created a searchable herbal database to digitally preserve this knowledge and help more people understand its value. While systematically protecting the millennia-old medical system, I also strive to help these traditional therapies—capable of addressing real health issues—gain legal recognition and broader acceptance, ultimately achieving the living inheritance and sustainable development of Naxi medicine.
